Since joining Sandler O’Neill in 1989, Mr. Hickey has been responsible for providing merger and acquisition and general strategic planning advice for community banks nationwide. Sandler O’Neill is regularly ranked among the top advisors to community banks, with Mr. Hickey spearheading this effort.

Over the last decade, Mr. Hickey has been one of the most active merger advisors to financial institutions and has built a substantial experience base for valuations and structure, on which many in the industry have come to rely. He has advised clients on a variety of transactions, including buy side, sell side, capital raising and divestitures. Mr. Hickey has worked extensively with both domestic and foreign financial institutions.

Mr. Hickey was one of the founders of the Investment Banking Group, which now numbers over 80 professionals in New York, Chicago, Atlanta and San Francisco. Mr. Hickey has advised on merger and acquisition transactions, as well as equity and debt transactions.
