Biography

San Diego-based executive Wendy Cohen will take on an expanded leadership role as vice president of Kitchell CEM's Southern California office.

Cohen will oversee the continued expansion of the Southern California region. Her expertise includes managing all aspects of construction from preconstruction to project close-out and client satisfaction. Cohen's resume includes overseeing the successful completion of many high-profile projects in Southern California.

Previously Cohen held the position of director of Planning, Development and Construction at Palomar Health, where she was responsible for managing the development, real estate and construction portfolio of the health care system. Under her leadership she executed a $1.057 billion master plan that included the new 750,000-square-foot Palomar Medical Center in Escondido.

Other notable and recent projects include, Alga Norte Community Park, MiraCosta Community College District Science Buildings, Palomar Medical Center, Seacrest Village and Casa de las Campanas. She is currently overseeing UCSD Outpatient Pavilion, Golden West College Criminal Justice Training Center, Saddleback College Math & Science project, Anaheim Ponderosa Park and Rady Children's Hospital projects.

Cohen was honored by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) with the 2012 Regent's Award for Early Careerist Healthcare Executive. She previously held board positions at the San Diego Organization of Healthcare Leaders and Casa des Las Campanas.
