The Bowling Green State University Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1956 to raise and manage private money for BGSU, above that which is appropriated from state funds. Operating as an independent organization in a politically neutral, more flexible environment increases its responsiveness and efficiency in meeting important University goals, and serves as a way to procure services, programs and projects that benefit the University and its students. The Foundation maintains a long-term perspective of needs, priorities, and past commitments going beyond the outlook and tenure of current University administrators, assuring that grant monies are distributed according to donor wishes and are carefully monitored by an independent governing board in perpetuity.
