The New York Academy of Sciences is a membership organization with over 25,000 members in 140 countries. They include research scientists at universities and industry, as well as representatives of business, government, and policy organizations. Our Board of Governors and President's Council include 27 Nobel laureates and other prominent leaders of academia and industry, based in New York and around the world.

Yale University School of Medicine provides higher education and professional qualifications related to the health industry. It offers the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree and a Master of Medical Science (M.M.Sc.) degree through the Yale Physician Associate Program for prospective physician assistants. Public health degrees are administered through the Yale School of Public Health. It also provides joint degree programs with other disciplines at Yale, including the M.D/Juris Doctor (J.D.) in conjunction with Yale Law School; the M.D./Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in conjunction with the Yale School of Management; the M.D./Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) in conjunction with the Yale School of Public Health; science or engineering in conjunction with the Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (M.D./Ph.D.); and the M.D./Master of Divinity (M.Div) in conjunction with Yale Divinity School. Yale University School of Medicine carries out its practical teaching through the Yale-New Haven Hospital. It includes 62 National Academy of Sciences members, 40 Institute of Medicine investigators, and 16 Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigators. It has 718 students and 2,451 academic staff. It was founded in 1810 as The Medical Institution of Yale College, and formally opened its doors in 1813. Yale University School of Medicine is based in New Haven, Connecticut.

Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland, offers degree programs in everything from in-demand professional fields to the fine arts. Rockville area residents may also take advantage of Montgomery’s basic skills, professional development and enrichment classes. Montgomery College awards professional degrees in such fields as: * Computer Engineering * Fire Protection Technology * Graphic Design * Nursing * Surgical Technology Students may also pursue one of Montgomery’s creative arts degrees. Creative arts majors include: * Music * Photography * Studio Art * Television Production * Theatre Graduates of Montgomery’s associate’s degree programs have the option of pursuing a career or transferring to a four-year college or university. Montgomery College also has non-credit offerings for those interested in personal enrichment, career enhancement or basic skills development. These continuing education classes include courses in business, computer technology, ESL and GED preparation. Like everything else at Montgomery College, extracurricular activities are plentiful and varied and include academic, cultural and special interest clubs and organizations. Students needing financial assistance may receive financial aid in the form of loans, grants, work-study and scholarships. To apply for aid, applicants must fill out a FAFSA. Admissions applications and instruction are available on the Montgomery College website. Individuals that wish to take a continuing education course may simply register.
