Biography

Tatiana Lapushchik is a partner in Cravath’s Corporate Department. Her practice focuses on representing the leading financial institutions, as well as corporate borrowers, in domestic and cross-border bank financings across a variety of industries, including manufacturing, oil and gas, retail, technology and media.

Ms. Lapushchik has been recognized as a leading lawyer in banking and finance by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business from 2012 through 2018; Chambers Global: The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business from 2016 through 2018; The Legal 500 in 2011, 2012 and from 2014 through 2018; IFLR1000 from 2012 through 2019; and Who’s Who Legal from 2013 through 2018. Ms. Lapushchik’s work has been recognized in the Financial Times’ 2013 U.S. Innovative Lawyers Report and by the New York Law Journal, and she was shortlisted by Euromoney Legal Media Group’s Americas Women in Business Law Awards for “Best in Banking & Finance” in 2014.

Ms. Lapushchik has represented the financing sources for numerous strategic and private equity acquisition financings, recapitalizations, spin-offs and debt restructurings, including, on the strategic side, financings for Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies in connection with its pending acquisition of the GE’s transportation business, DuPont in connection with its combination with Dow, Keysight in connection with its acquisition of Ixia, Tesoro in connection with its acquisition of Western Refining, Fortis in connection with its acquisition of ITC, Actavis in connection with its acquisition of Allergan and Expedia and TripAdvisor in connection with Expedia’s spin-off of TripAdvisor, and, on the private equity side, financings for PSAV, Applied Cleveland, SIRVA, King.com, LNR, Clear Channel, AutoTrader.com and First American Payment Systems.

At the same time, Ms. Lapushchik regularly advises financial institutions on general financings for their marquee investment grade clients, including AmerisourceBergen, Best Buy, Hess, Marathon Petroleum, Noble Energy, Pfizer, Tyson, United Technologies and Walmart.

In her borrower representation practice, Ms. Lapushchik has advised Casa Cuervo, INEOS, Northrop Grumman, Weyerhaeuser, White Mountains Insurance Group and Lindsay Goldberg and its portfolio companies.

Ms. Lapushchik was born in Minsk, Belarus. She received a B.A. summa cum laude from Barnard College, Columbia University, in 1997 and a J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2000. Ms. Lapushchik joined Cravath in 2000 and became a partner in 2008.
