A member of the Ivy League, it is among the oldest and most selective law schools in the nation. The Wharton School is the business school of the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Wharton was the world’s first collegiate business school and the first business school in the United States. It was established in 1881 through a donation of Joseph Wharton.

Graduates of ECU’s College of Education have been named Teachers of the Year at the state and national levels. Another of its notable departments is the College of Fine Arts and Communications. Training individuals in the visual and performing arts, this division is one of the more well-known on the East Coast and hosts numerous performances, exhibits and arts programs. Additional offerings at ECU include adult learning options, a language academy and distance learning. Student services meet a range of needs and include a career center, a writing center, study abroad programs, student government, disability support, counseling, student legal services, a student health center, on-campus housing, financial aid for eligible students, and many others.
