Sherry R. Jacobs

Sherry R. Jacobs serves on the boards of a number of non-profit organizations, which allow her to pursue her particular interests – that of public education and theatre. These activities include the boards of CEI-PEA (a prominent not for profit corporation supporting public education in New York City) where she currently serves as Chair of the development committee; the Julia Richmond Education Complex, which includes the Urban Academy, an alternative high school in Manhattan. Mrs. Jacobs is also a member of the Board of Directors of The City Center 55th St Theatre Foundation and has chaired its Education Committee there. From 1986 until the mid-90s, she served as an officer for Guilford Mills, as Vice President and General Counsel and Head of Human Resources and also served as a Director through the late nineties. She previously held several positions at Saks Fifth Avenue (1979-1986), including Vice President and General Council, Director of Loss Prevention, and Manager of the Garden City, L.I. store and as Vice President-Legal at R.H. Macy & Co.

Mrs. Jacobs has also practiced as an attorney at major New York law firms. She graduated from Fairleigh Dickenson University and received her J.D. from Loyola University of Chicago. She resides in Palm Beach and New York with her husband, Stephen E. Jacobs, a retired senior partner at the international law firm of Weil, Gotshal and Manges LLP, who presently serves as Chief Councel to Leucadia National Corporation, a New York Stock Exchange diversified corporation
