Forestland investments are long-term investments. The return drivers include biological growth, timber prices, and land values. Forestland targets investments within the timber and agriculture sectors. CalPERS' Liquidity Strategy consists of highly liquid short-term securities with maturities of less than 10 years. Real Estate strategy focuses on US core assets with moderate leverage. CalPERS' Trust Level Portfolio Management Program (TLPM) is responsible for delivering targeted, risk-adjusted, total fund level investment returns over the long-term, anchored by the belief that strategic asset allocation is the dominant determinant of portfolio risk and return.

CalSTRS is administered by a 12-member Teachers' Retirement Board. Their Investment Committee's objectives are set forth in the California Constitution and the California Education Code. The Teachers Retirement Fund is a special trust fund established by law that holds the assets of the following programs: Defined Benefit, Defined Benefit Supplement and Cash Balance Benefit.
