Robert Kaplan is an executive vice president and head of Global Operations, which includes securities and cash processing, the Lean initiative and business transformation activities worldwide. In this role, Mr. Kaplan is responsible for the daily processing of all transaction related activities and the design and service delivery of the global operating model.

Mr. Kaplan has been with State Street for more than 25 years and has held a variety of management positions. Most recently, he led the integration of the Investors Bank and Trust acquisition. Prior to that, he ran the Cash and Payments Processing groups. From May 1993 through June 2001, he worked in the Toronto office, where his responsibilities included offshore and Canadian mutual funds.

In 1997, he was named chief operating officer for State Street’s Investor Services business in Canada. Between July 2001 and February 2003, Mr. Kaplan played a crucial role in global business development, where his responsibilities included strategic acquisitions, joint ventures and large, multinational outsourcing opportunities, including UBS and Scottish Widows.

Mr. Kaplan is a director on the boards of Syntel Solutions (Mauritius) Limited, Syntel Sourcing Private Limited, Mumbai, DTCC, BFDS, and State Street Trust Company, Canada.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in financial management from Suffolk University.
