Alzheimer's Association, founded in 1978, serves 23 counties in Western and Central WA- East to Yakima, North to Bellingham, South to the Columbia River, West to Pacific Ocean. We are a private nonprofit. We are not a United Way agency. We receive 80% of our funding from contributions. Alzheimer's disease is a fatal disease with no prevention or cure. 13% of those age 65 have Alzheimer's in WA. There are 100,000 people with the disease in WA State. Statistics prove that for each person with the disease another four are directly affected- family, friends, employers, neighbors etc. It is our goal to provide the tools, resources and information needed to make the long journey that is Alzheimer's as easy as possible.
