Biography

Nancy practises in the area of litigation, with a primary emphasis on public law, employment law and commercial matters. She has acted as counsel to professional disciplinary inquiry panels and to administrative tribunals. She also regularly acts on tariff proceedings before the Copyright Board and represents clients on procurement review challenges to the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) under the North American Free Trade Agreement, the Agreement on Internal Trade, the Agreement on Government Procurement and other trade agreements.

In her employment law practice, Nancy provides timely and practical advice to clients in respect of all laws relating to workplace issues, including employment law, human rights law (including ITAR-related issues) and privacy law. She assists clients in negotiating and drafting executive employment, termination and related agreements and policies. On the commercial litigation side, Nancy has handled cases involving contract and copyright disputes, wrongful dismissal actions and breach of fiduciary duty.

Nancy provides advice to bidders regarding security requirements under the Contract Security Program (formerly Industrial Security Program) in relation to federal government procurement processes.

Nancy has appeared at all levels of the superior courts in Ontario, the federal courts and the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as before administrative tribunals, including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, Ontario Labour Relations Board, Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, and the Canadian International Trade Tribunal.
