Education

Southern University Law Center (SULC) is a law school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, that offers specialized law degrees and distinctive service-learning opportunities. SULC offers a JD degree, which prepares students to become lawyers, with a specialization in civil and common law. They also offer a Master’s degree in Public Administration. Another option is a dual MPA and JD degree. All of SULC’s academics offer a particular focus on legal procedures within Louisiana. Students also participate in the school’s law clinics. Here, they get the opportunity to represent clients in different settings, including juvenile court and local district courts. SULC students may also participate in a unique program, called The Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project. This project sends law students into public schools to teach Constitutional Law. Another benefit of an SULC education is that students have the option of enrolling in a part-time, full-time or evening-only program. The types of financial aid available to eligible students include Pell, SEOG and SSIG grants and Perkins, Stafford and Plus loans. Only United States citizens that are not in default on a student loan may qualify for aid. SULC’s admissions are highly selective. Applicants should have exceptional LSAT scores and an above average GPA.

Bachelor of Arts Degree
