UFG-PE's private equity funds follow an opportunistic investment approach. The firm aims for portfolio diversification. The fund's investment objective is to triple capitalization over a period of five years. They invest across a wide range of sectors with a preference for financial services, communications and IT, mass media, retail trade, consumer goods, food industry, production and processing, and logistics. They target small and mid-sized firms based in Russia in the expansion or mature stages of development. They generally acquire at least a 25% stake.Key investment criteria are high growth potential, committed management teams willing to improve corporate governance through business practices and transparency, documented track record with an existing mid-term business plan as well as flexibility with regards to strategic investments, alliances, acquisitions and exit.UFG-PE's investment horizon is three to five years. Their exit strategies include IPOs or resale to a strategic investor. Ideally they look for a return of at least 35%.
