Managing Director & Portfolio Manager
1999 - 2014

Concord Asset Management specializes in the management of separate accounts that are designed and managed using individual securities to achieve the client's stated financial objectives. The firm seeks to manage private and institutional portfolios prudently and competitively in both stable and volatile markets. They employ a fundamental, bottom-up investment strategy. Their screening and research processes are designed to identify companies whose prospects are underappreciated by the market. These companies may be transitioning themselves into a new business model, experiencing a temporary, correctable problem or simply be out-of-favor due to current market conditions.Concord attempts to avoid the volatility of high-growth/high-multiple equities. The firm prefers steadily growing companies with business models that can sustain this growth. They look for companies with conservative accounting practices and proven management teams. They avoid investments in companies whose prospects are subject to speculation or whose valuations are extreme. To be included in Concord's investment universe, companies must have consistent, sustainable earning growth, good relative valuation characteristics and qualities that result in a high degree in confidence. Concord focuses primarily on 5 broad market sectors: financial, consumer, healthcare, technology and industrials. The firm's fixed-income philosophy is designed as a core strategy for those seeking consistent investment returns, while minimizing portfolio risk. Their active strategies attempt to optimize the returns available in bonds by assessing the changes in interest rates and the outlook for credit markets. Concord's analysts monitor bond market activity, an array of economic indicators and interest rate trends. Based on these assessments, portfolio duration is actively-managed, reflecting independent and decisive adjustments. Concord invests mainly in investment grade and short-to-intermediate bonds.
