Michael Naughton joins Weil from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where he landed in 2005 after five years at Clifford Chance LLP, where he was a partner. He split the previous six years as an associate between Rogers & Wells and Arnold & Porter LLP. Among his recent deals, Naughton worked on Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. LP's pending $1.3 billion acquisition of Hitachi Koki Co Ltd. from Hitachi Ltd. and its pending acquisition of Calsonic Kansei Corp. from Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. for $1.87 billion; TD Ameritrade Holding Corp.'s $4 billion acquisition of Scottrade Financial Services Inc.; Gland Pharma Ltd.'s $1.26 billion sale to Shanghai Fosun Pharma (Group) Ltd.; and Melrose Industries plc's $1.44 billion acquisition of Nortek Inc.
