MLAM's worldwide approach to equity investing uses a philosophy of identifying relative value among individual stocks and stock markets by focusing primarily on two variables: reinvestment rate and the price-to-book value ratio. There are seven additional screens employed to further refine the process. The factors used to identify value include price-to-cash flow, price-to-earnings ratios, past and future earnings growth and dividend payouts. For asset allocation, a country whose market valuation measurements seem consistently above or below world averages or its own historical averages are over or under-weighted accordingly. The degrees of over or under-weighting are determined by relative economic prospects as measured by the outlook for GNP, inflation and interest rates of each country and their impact on currency movements.By combining a value approach to individual stock selection with asset allocation by country, the firm seeks to achieve consistent performance relative to international equity indexes.MLAM combines top-down and bottom-up analysis and uses proprietary models as part of their research process. Their funds are team-managed.

BlackRock IM-Australia employs a disciplined process and analytical tools to construct portfolios from a variety of investment products across asset classes, market-caps, styles and geographies. Their enhanced-passive investment style is based mainly on an indexed approach and permits a large number of small, active stock positions in the portfolio, seeking to add value above the benchmark. They score stocks based on current information, aiming to derive an indication of future share price movement. Portfolios are designed to be neutral in terms of investment style with no unintended bias to value or growth factors. The firm utilizes a range of strategies tailored to client requirements, including an enhanced-passive strategy in the emerging markets asset class, managed by BlackRock's quantitative team based in Princeton. They manage fixed-income portfolios with exposure to global bonds as well as bond portfolios denominated in various currencies. Their equity portfolios, in addition to the standard US, international and emerging market offerings, also include equity portfolios with strategies specific to the UK, Europe, Japan and Australia.Market risk management is central to BlackRock IM-Australia's investment management process. They partner with the BlackRock Solutions team to ensure standardized metrics for consistently assessing and managing risk in line with their clients' objectives.

Powerwrap is an independent provider of investment administration services to the financial services market. The Powerwrap service is structured as a Managed Investment Scheme (“MIS”), with Powerwrap Limited as Responsible Entity. The MIS structure imposes the most robust form of regulatory obligations upon the Responsible Entity thereby reducing the regulatory requirements and compliance costs for Financial Advisers.Managed Funds and Separately Managed Accounts are held within the MIS, delivering all of the benefits of individual beneficial ownership of ASX equities as well as reduced transaction costs through pooling for trades and transactions. All other assets are held outside the MIS and can be administered by Powerwrap. This ensures that all assets are held in one place, reducing the administrative burden on Financial Advisers, eliminating the fees involved in managing multiple accounts, and simplifying investment administration.
