Biography

Marsha Kelliher came to Walsh as President & CEO in 2017, bringing decades of academic leadership, teaching, business, and legal experience to her role. Prior to joining Walsh, Kelliher served as Dean of Sigmund Weis School of Business at Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania, where she spearheaded the development of four new majors, led the redesign of the school’s London program, initiated the launch of a Women’s Symposium and led the reaffirmation of the business schools AACSB accreditation.

Kelliher has made a strong impact in the short time she has been at Walsh, leading an ambitious strategic plan initiative and launching two new academic programs: the country’s only multi-course concentration in automotive cybersecurity and the Master of Arts in Business.

Kelliher holds a Juris Doctorate and a Master of Laws in Labor and Employment Law, which, like many Walsh students, she earned while working full-time. She is licensed and has practiced law in both Texas and California.

Susquehanna University was founded in 1856 by Benjamin Kurtz as the Lutheran based Missionary Institute paired with a sister college, the Susquehanna Female College. When the sister college closed in 1873, the missionary institute became co-educational, and in 1895 it became a four-year school renamed Susquehanna University. The school's 325 acres sit in rural Pennsylvania and house 39 residential buildings, 6 academic buildings, a library, athletic facilities, a health center, and several administrative buildings.
