Mark Gordon

Mark Gordon is a partner and 24-year veteran of Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz’s Corporate Department, where he focuses on advising public companies and major leveraged buyout firms in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, shareholder activism, takeover defense, restructurings, corporate governance and securities law matters. Mark was selected by The American Lawyer as a Dealmaker of the Year for 2016.

Mr. Gordon is also a the Robert B. and Candice J. Haas Lecturer in Corporate Finance Law at Harvard Law School, where he has taught a winter-term advanced Mergers & Acquisitions course annually since 2009.

Mr. Gordon joined Wachtell Lipton in 1994 and was elected partner in 2001. He received his B.A. magna cum laude from Yale University, and his J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard University. While at Harvard, he was executive editor of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review and was a member of the winning team in the Ames Moot Court Competition.

In addition, Mr. Gordon serves as:

* a member of the Next Generation Council of the USC Shoah Visual History Foundation,
* a permanent advisor to the Next Generation Leadership group of G100 (an organization focused on the development of future CEOs), and
* a trustee of the Yale Daily News Foundation
