Biography

Marc Castel, Director of Commercialization, OCE Centre for Commercialization of Research (CCR)
Marc is an engineering graduate from the University of Toronto, with a long career as an entrepreneur, executive business manager, technology analyst, scientist, lecturer and visionary with a track record of results in emerging technologies. His 25 years of business experience includes 6 successful on-going start-ups, senior executive, ownership and science positions in diverse SMEs including digital media, industrial manufacturing, medical devices and services, robotics, education and e-commerce. He has successfully built strong international business networks for US public multi-nationals and Canadian SMEs in his various business roles as Director of International Sales, Managing Director and C.E.O. His experience includes reverse take-overs, mergers and acquisitions and attraction of capital. He has solid General Management experience in small and mid-sized ISO registered businesses with a strong grasp of scientific technical, financial, management and marketing aspects of complex businesses. Castel has also worked as a Business Development Manager for the Ontario Centres of Excellence and the Canadian Institute for Photonic Innovations. In his current role as Director of Commercialization for OCE, he is helping to turn ideas into new products and successful businesses.
