Biography

Manzah Habib is a co-founder of Titagya Schools and has been involved in most aspects of the organization from the beginning. He manages Titagya’s operations in Ghana. Habib originally hails from Dalun, Ghana and is passionate about expanding access to education for children in the region. He previously served as an Assistant Administrator for the Dalun Youth Association and as an Assistant Administrator for Ghana’s National Commission for Civic Education. He graduated from the Amison Secretarial and Computer Training School.

Titagya Schools is a social enterprise that builds and operates schools and promotes high-quality early education in northern Ghana, a region with a rural literacy rate of 22%. They are currently operating a pre-school and kindergarten for 80 students in Dalun, Ghana that utilizes the most interactive curriculum in the region to give children a strong head start in their language, academic, emotional, creative thinking, and social skills. They are based in Dalun, Ghana and incorporated as a non-profit organization in New York, USA and have filed for 501(c)(3) status.

The National Commission for Civic Education tries to engage the citizenry through several programs and community outreach projects. The Commission is funded primarily by the Government of Ghana. Other major sponsors include the European Union, the UNDP and the Hanns Seidel Foundation of Germany. Many programs are also carried out in collaboration with UNICEF, Ghana Integrity Initiative, the Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition, the African Peer Review Mechanism amongst many others. The Commission was established in 1993 under the National Commission for Civic Education Act, 1993 (Act 452).
