Biography

Landon Pollack has crossed traditional frontiers to achieve a 360-degree view of business. He has been, at different times, an athlete, an entrepreneur, a herpetologist, inventor, social activist, investor and sports manager.

Pollack is an entrepreneur of 25 years. His foundation for success was established during his time training to play professional baseball. Pollack has been a founder of, or founding investor in, more than two dozen companies. Before reaching 20, Pollack had started four businesses, earning his first million dollars at 13 selling sports memorabilia by mail order (Baseball Fanatics). He went on to create a sports memorabilia and apparel store (Princeton Sports Corner) at 14 and then, at 16, as a certified personal trainer, he launched a personal training studio (Pollack’s PTS). At 18 he opened an exotic animal haven (Exotic Reptiles).

In the ensuing 15 years, some of his ventures have included a beverage company (Juice Bowl- acquired by Dole/Pepsi ), a multi-media company (ClubCom- acquired by Amer Group Fitness Equipment business, Precor Inc.), a robotically-controlled exercise system (Intelligent Health), a coaching and lifestyle company (Personalized Lifestyle Programs- private sale), health clubs (Firm Fitness), a cable company (Cable Satisfaction- IPO), a non-alcoholic beverage conglomerate (Liboza Holdings, Inc.), a chain of yoga studios (Vitalize Studios), a telecom company (Uniconnexions), a social networking company (WeMeUs), and a digital music company (MySongToYou).

Pollack’s lifelong passion for animals and nature led to his co-founding two animal protection related organizations.

Additionally Pollack serves as an advisor to GlobalGiving.org, Harvard Medical School (The Division of Sleep Medicine), RelayFoods, Astia, Humane Capital (HSUS Initiative), LETS.org, AlanWatts.com and Coalition to Transform Advanced Care (C-TAC). He is also an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Thunderbird School of Global Management, and a mentor at Springboard Enterprises, Hub Ventures and Unreasonable Institute.
