KIMBERLY A. HURTADO is the Managing Shareholder of Hurtado, S.C., Counselors at Law, and was a former Law Clerk to the Honorable Roland B. Day, Chief Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Ms. Hurtado has extensive experience in transactional preparation and negotiation of construction, real estate, business acquisition, and financing contracts, including public bond issuance and other funding mechanisms, in excess of $2B annually. She also has undertaken resolution of complex construction litigation and alternative dispute resolution, particularly structural design and construction defect claims, bond and lien foreclosure, scope and schedule changes, and insurance coverage and contract interpretation disputes in state and federal courts through appeal, and via a wide range of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes. She has developed highly successful disadvantaged business enterprise programs for private, public and quasi-public entities compliant with federal and state funding requirements, and provides best practices consultation for implementation of such programs. Ms. Hurtado also acts as a partnering facilitator, mediator and private arbitrator, and is an author and frequent lecturer on construction and alternative dispute resolution law throughout the United States.
