The Biden Foundation was established to carry on a lifetime of public service, capped by eight historic years with President Obama. Officially established as an operating, 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, the Foundation is governed by the volunteer board of directors. The Biden Foundation will build upon Vice President and Dr. Biden’s lifelong commitment to protect and advance the rights and opportunities of all people through educational programming and public policy analysis. Initially, the Foundation’s areas of focus will be Foreign Policy, The Cancer Initiative, Community Colleges and Military Families, Protecting Children, Equality, Ending Violence Against Women, Strengthening the Middle Class.

The Biden Institute is a research and policy center working to bring together the sharpest minds and the most powerful voices to influence, shape, and solve the most pressing domestic policy problems facing America. Based out of the word-class intellectual community at the University of Delaware’s School of Public Policy and Administration, their work is rooted in two guiding principles Vice President Biden has long embraced: economic opportunity and social justice. The institute is focused on the issues that have animated the Vice President’s commitment to public service for over four decades, such as strengthening the middle class, violence against women, civil rights, criminal justice reform, health care reform, environmental sustainability, and the state of our democracy and politics.

The University of Pennsylvania School of Arts and Sciences forms the foundation of the scholarly excellence that has established Penn as one of the world's leading research universities. They teach students across all 12 Penn schools, and their academic departments span the reach from anthropology and biology to sociology and South Asian studies. Members of the Penn Arts & Sciences faculty are leaders in creating new knowledge in their disciplines and are engaged in nearly every area of interdisciplinary innovation.
