It offers 3 associate programs, 147 bachelor’s programs, 119 master's programs, 54 doctoral programs, and 15 dual graduate programs through seven colleges and in collaboration with more than 70 research centers. UD's student body encompasses more than 17,000 undergraduates, more than 3,600 graduate students and nearly 800 students in professional and continuing studies from across the country and around the globe. Archmere Academy is a private, independent and Catholic college preparatory school, grade 9-12, located on the Pennsylvania-Delaware border. Founded in the Norbertine tradition, the Archmere education focuses on the whole person, developing students into empathetic leaders. The Archmere education values a consistent work ethic; cultivates an appreciation for excellence; strives for student mastery in all subject areas; and supports students’ self discovery. Unlike many other independent schools, Archmere strives to create a diverse student body, awarding 54.3% of financial assistance and scholarships, 35% more than most independent schools, according to NAIS (National Association of Independent Schools). While Archmere carries on Saint Norbert’s passion for learning by extending the opportunity for an elite education to as many students as possible despite income levels, the school is also able to provide a real-world environment for its students to experience as they transition into young adulthood.

The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) was established by Executive Order on November 23, 1993. This Cabinet-level Council is the principal means within the executive branch to coordinate science and technology policy across the diverse entities that make up the Federal research and development enterprise. Chaired by the President, the membership of the NSTC is made up of the Vice President, the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy, Cabinet Secretaries and Agency Heads with significant science and technology responsibilities, and other White House officials. A primary objective of the NSTC is the establishment of clear national goals for Federal science and technology investments in a broad array of areas spanning virtually all the mission areas of the executive branch. The Council prepares research and development strategies that are coordinated across Federal agencies to form investment packages aimed at accomplishing multiple national goals. The work of the NSTC is organized under five primary committees: Environment, Natural Resources and Sustainability; Homeland and National Security; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Education; Science; and Technology. Each of these committees oversees subcommittees and working groups focused on different aspects of science and technology and working to coordinate across the federal government.

2012 Democratic National Convention

The Democratic National Convention Committee is a not-for-profit organization responsible for planning and executing the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, the week of September 3, 2012. This convention is going to be the most open and accessible in history. It isn’t about political ritual or simply renominating the president, it’s about Americans coming together. Success depends on involvement at the grassroots, engaging the American spirit and enlisting people who want to put their shoulder to the wheel and change the country for the better. From format to funding, this convention will increase the influence of the grassroots and empower more Americans to become involved in the political process.
