The University of Connecticut (UConn) is a public research university in Connecticut. The American Helicopter Society (AHS) International is a non-profit education and technical organization that functions as the primary forum for interchange of information on vertical flight technology. It is the world’s oldest and largest technical society dedicated to enhancing the understanding of vertical flight technology. Each year, the society organizes or co-sponsors several regional and international conferences that facilitate the advancement of the theory and practices of helicopter and other VTOL aircraft technology, and publishes their proceedings. It publishes the vertical flight technology bi-monthly magazine, Vertiflite, as well as the technical vertical flight publication, The Journal of the American Helicopter Society (JAHS). The society advocates on behalf of rotorcraft technology to the public and to government bodies.
