Biography

Jesse Creed is an attorney in the Los Angeles office of Munger, Tolles & Olson. Mr. Creed’s practice focuses on the representation of mission-oriented nonprofits and other business organizations in corporate governance, legal policy, and business transactions.

Mr. Creed is passionate about the well-being and housing issues for our military veterans and the homeless, public education reform, and animal rights and strives to maintain a robust public interest practice through the representation of nonprofits involved in these areas. In 2016, Mr. Creed was among the attorneys recognized with a California Lawyer Attorneys of the Year (CLAY) Award for his work in executing the historic settlement of the lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to build permanent supportive housing for homeless veterans on the VA’s 388-acre West Los Angeles campus.

Mr. Creed is a member of the board of Equitas Academy, a charter school network of four Los Angeles public schools. He is also a member of the Nonprofit Subcommittee of the American Bar Association. Mr. Creed is a member of the advisory board of the medieval studies department at Princeton University and is a member of the advisory board of Karma Rescue, a nonprofit animal rescue organization.

Mr. Creed earned his law degree from Columbia University School of Law in New York City, where he was recognized as a James Kent Scholar for outstanding academic achievement in all three years and served on the Columbia Law Review. He served as a law clerk to Judge Diana Motz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit from 2010 to 2011 and Judge William Fletcher of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit from 2011 to 2012.
