Hamish J. Shaw

Hamish Shaw is a partner based in Heidrick & Struggles' San Francisco office. He specializes in the communications, software and hardware & systems sectors.

Having worked in leadership advisory services across three continents over the past 16 years, including nine years in the United States and seven years in Asia Pacific, Hamish brings a global perspective to clients. He is particularly skilled at helping companies globalize their businesses through the hiring and assessment of outstanding leadership talent.

After joining Heidrick & Struggles in Sydney more than 15 years ago, Hamish conducted technology searches throughout Asia Pacific before moving to Hong Kong, and later to San Francisco. Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Hamish worked in international executive search in Singapore and in Silicon Valley, focusing on global accounts. He began his search career as a partner in a major recruitment advertising agency, where he built the Silicon Valley technology practice between 2000 and 2005, developing expertise in telecommunications and software.

Education:

Hamish studied Chinese at the Shanghai University and received a bachelor’s degree (with merit) in economics from the University of New South Wales.
