As Founder and President of The Doe Fund, George has transformed government policy and the public's perception of the homeless population. He helps more than 1,000 formerly homeless and formerly incarcerated individuals each day by empowering them to find jobs and housing. George's awards and distinctions include the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness' Home for Every American Award, the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research's William E. Simon Lifetime Achievement Award for Social Entrepreneurship, and an honorary degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. He also serves as a member of New York City's Discharge Planning Collaboration.
