Dr. Geoffrey Weinman is Dean of the Maxwell Becton College of Arts and Sciences at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey. Dr. Weinman joined the University and the Department of English on the Florham-Madison campus in 1968. Over the years, he has served in a variety of capacities: Director of Freshman Writing, Department Chair, Assistant Dean of Becton College, Assistant Provost of the Teaneck-Hackensack campus, Associate Vice-President for Academic Affairs, and, for six years, Vice President of Academic Affairs.

His areas of interest include American literature, most particularly 19th century writers such as Henry James, Poe, Hawthorne, Twain and Melville, as well as drama and film. As dean, Dr. Weinman has made a strong commitment to the sciences, helping to secure funds for new labs, increasing support for science faculty, and increasing community outreach.
