Biography

Mr. David B. Carlson, CFA, is Senior Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer & Portfolio Manager at SSgA Funds Management, Inc. He is portfolio manager for the SSGA Premier Growth Equity strategy and co-manager of the concentrated SSGA U.S. Equity Select strategy. In addition, he has shared portfolio management responsibility for SSGA’s U.S. Equity strategy, a diversified, large cap, core strategy comprising two underlying portfolios, one of which is U.S. Equity Select. He joined SSGA through its acquisition of GE Asset Management in July 2016. He has over 36 years of industry experience.He joined GEAM in 1982 as an equity analyst on the U.S. Equity team. He has held a variety of positions in US Equities including industry analyst, generalist, portfolio manager and CIO of U.S. Equities.He has a BS in Finance from Indiana University. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1985.
