Biography

Ms. Brown Fuller has a passion for creating transformational opportunities for youth facing adversity. Ms. Brown Fuller comes to exalt with almost 20 years of leadership with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of New York City. Most recently, Ms. Brown Fuller served as chief program officer, where her responsibilities included managing the operations, marketing, and quality of programs that serve 4,000 youth annually, strategic planning, and fundraising.

Some of the highlights of her tenure are: Danielle authored and co-authored curricula for the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC’s 32-hour Mentoring Supervisor Certificate Program, the only graduate level course that teaches social service professionals best practices and the tools necessary to develop or enhance their mentoring program for youth; she is the featured facilitator of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC’s Volunteer Training Teaching Video entitled Skills to Mentor Youth; and as Chair of the Committee for State Certification, a collaborative effort among New York State legislators and 150 youth-serving agencies, she raised recognition, professionalism and safe standards for youth mentoring. The Steering Committee championed the passage of the Safe Mentoring Act in August 2006, which gives mentoring agencies across New York State access to New York State fingerprinting.

Ms. Brown Fuller has a strong youth development background and years of practice and clinical experience with vulnerable youth and families in foster care, prevention, and after-school programs. In addition to BBBS of NYC, she has worked for organizations such as Brookwood Child Care, Good Shepherd Services, and The Door-A Center of Alternatives. Ms. Brown Fuller received her Master’s Degree in Social Work with a major in Administration and a minor in Group Work from the Hunter College School of Social Work and a Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Stony Brook. Danielle currently serves as a Board Member for the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), New York City Chapter and is a Diamond Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

exalt successfully supports vulnerable youth to see their potential and engage in their education and personal development, all the while acquiring important skills for finishing school and starting their careers. It does this through its program of structured classes and paid internships, thereby reversing the school to prison pipeline. I am honored to follow exalt’s founder, Sonja Okun and join exalt’s incredible team of employees, board members, and the many supporters in this time of opportunity and change.
