Daniel S. Lipman

Vice President, Supplier and International Programs

Dan Lipman joined the Nuclear Energy Institute in January 2014 and was elected vice president in February 2015. He is responsible for policy issues focusing NEI’s support for its supplier and nuclear-fuel member companies; industry programs on nuclear exports and international trade; relations with Congress and the Executive Branch on these issues; and integrating NEI’s international activities.

Before joining NEI, Dan was senior vice president of operations support for Westinghouse Electric Company, responsible for the global supply chain, quality assurance and continuous improvement, information technology, corporate strategy, risk management, environmental health and safety, sustainability and leadership over a number of key commercial processes and transformational activities.

From 2005-2009, Dan served as senior vice president, nuclear power plants, responsible for managing Westinghouse’s global deployment of new nuclear power plants. During this time, he played a pivotal role in securing landmark AP1000 contracts in China and the United States. He had executive responsibility for AP1000 design and licensing, marketing, contract negotiations, equipment supply and project management.

Dan joined Westinghouse in 1982 and, in the following years, moved into successively more responsible positions, including field positions at nuclear plants in South Korea, Georgia and Texas supporting construction, start-up, operations, and outage management; vice president, customer relations and sales, North America; and president of Westinghouse Asia.

Before joining Westinghouse, Dan worked on non-proliferation and fuel cycle issues at a D.C.-based consulting firm, and interned at the IAEA in Vienna.
