Miami University is one of the oldest public universities in the country, made possible by an ordinance signed by President George Washington in 1795. The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland was established in 1914 as a part of the Federal Reserve System, the central bank of the United States. The Bank’s main office took up residence in its current home in the heart of downtown Cleveland in 1923. The President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness (Jobs Council) was created to provide non-partisan advice to the President on continuing to strengthen the Nation's economy and ensure the competitiveness of the United States and on ways to create jobs, opportunity, and prosperity for the American people.
