Biography

Christopher A. Wood, an associate in the Houston office, focuses on representing clients in corporate, securities and business-related transactions, including securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Wood regularly counsels both public and private companies regarding corporate governance issues and general corporate matters, and advises public companies on compliance with federal securities laws and regulations of the NYSE.

Mr. Wood’s experience includes public and private debt and equity offerings, private equity investments, spin-offs, tender offers, going private transactions, consent solicitations and secured financing transactions. His experience also includes cross-border securities and merger and acquisition activities. Mr. Wood also has a wide variety of corporate and securities experience relating to various segments of the energy industry, including master limited partnerships.

Prior to joining Latham & Watkins, Mr. Wood served as counsel to ConocoPhillips.

Represented a private purchaser in its acquisition of a leading motor fuels distributer
Represented a publicly traded oil field services in its sale of the company
Represented a private purchaser in its acquisition of a refinery
Underwriters in multiple debt and equity offerings for Anadarko Petroleum Corp., Matador Resources Company, Memorial Production Partners, LP and other master limited partnerships and energy companies
