Initially founded as a private institution in the Methodist tradition, Morgan State University was purchased by the state of Maryland in 1939 to offer more higher education opportunities to its minority constituents. Morgan State University is located in Baltimore, and offers a wide range of studies for undergraduate and graduate degrees. Graduate studies include a long list of social studies, business and all sciences, while doctoral programs include a list almost as long in areas such as engineering, environmental sciences, public health, and so much more. Morgan State University proudly provides a well-rounded educational experience to all students. The faculty encourage students to get involved on-campus to ensure students are invested in their future. Student programs and support services are available, from organizations to academic and personal counseling. Staff and faculty understand the pressures of academic life, and want to make sure the students are able to deal constructively with those stresses. If you’re interested in a unique institution that values the highest level of education, a well-rounded experience and dedicated faculty, look no further. 2011 RG & Associates Consortium

More than 300 investors all committed to exploring opportunities with minority and woman owned firms and emerging managers gathered in New York at Consortium 2011. In its eighth year, the gathering has become the forum for emerging managers to “make their case” and begin a dialogue with institutional investors, including many of the top public pension plans, corporate pension plans, foundations, endowments and Taft-Hartley plans. The energy was high and the conversations plentiful during the day and a half gathering. Citing industry trends and issues facing emerging managers—insights gathered via a joint RG & Associates and Emerging Manager Monthly survey of managers across the country—many of the speakers and interactive sessions helped to crystallize the advantages emerging managers bring to an investment relationship. From different strategies and operating models to varied cultural experiences, the talent and track records of emerging managers in attendance were center stage.
