Biography

Cary Bran serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at Plantronics. In this role he is responsible for setting strategic direction and driving the company’s research and development efforts. The mission of his multidisciplinary, innovations team is exploring what’s possible related to human-centric, next-gen communications and collaboration technologies, and developing purposeful solutions that help people engage in a highly personalized and productive fashion.

Bran joined Plantronics in 2011 as Senior Director of Advanced Software Technology and Architecture. Subsequent roles included Senior Director of Innovation and New Ventures, and Vice President of Innovation and New Ventures. Bran’s background includes more than 17 years of experience developing enterprise collaboration and communications software solutions.

Prior to joining Plantronics, Bran was at Cisco Systems, Inc., where he held increasingly senior management positions in software architecture, business development and technical strategy. During this time Bran led Cisco’s WebRTC evangelism efforts and contributed to the IETF and W3C WebRTC standards development.

Bran graduated from Seattle University with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. He holds several patents related to communications, augmented reality and user experience. Additionally, Bran served on the board of the Bluetooth SIG from 2015 to 2017.
