Star island corporation has been operating since 1915 ASA religious and educational conference center. Our vision: To create on Star Island an environment that frees all who come to renew spiritually, explore matters of consequence, and gain knowledge about the world as it might ideally be. Our mission: To own and maintain Star Island and such other property as the Corporation may hold or acquire, as a center for religious, educational, and kindred purposes consistent with the principles of the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ. Our commitment to sustainability: Our four strategic goals (Community, Economic, Environmental, Stewardship) share the common purpose of achieving the sustainability and enhancing the vitality of Star Island. We choose them as areas of emphasis within the three-year time frame of this plan because they are particularly important and timely in furthering this purpose.

The Aspen Institute is an educational and policy studies organization based in Washington, DC. Its mission is to foster leadership based on enduring values and to provide a nonpartisan venue for dealing with critical issues. The Institute has campuses in Aspen, Colorado, and on the Wye River on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. It also maintains offices in New York City and has an international network of partners.
