Capathia Y. Jenkins

Capathia Jenkins is an accomplished actress and singer whose love for performing began during her childhood in Brooklyn and years as a student at the prestigious High School of Music and Art. During her third year as a Jazz Vocal major at Temple University, Ms Jenkins was cast as Aretha Franklin in the music revue Uptown Saturday Night and a career in Broadway and Off-Broadway productions began that has included Dreamgirls, Ain’t Misbehavin’ and the European tour of Bubblin’ Brown Sugar. Capathia has starred on Broadway in Newsies, Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, Caroline Or Change, The Look of Love, and The Civil War. Included in her long list of credits are 30 Rock, The Sopranos, Law & Order SVU, The Practice, Third Watch, Top Five and Musical Chairs. She can be heard on the film soundtracks of Chicago, Nine, Legally Blonde 2, and on Seasons 1 and 2 of Smash. She travels the world as a featured soloist for many symphony orchestras. Ms. Jenkins joined the Board of Covenant House in December 2009.
