Biography

Bill joined DK in 2012 to help the company meet the future in a way that capitalizes on the exciting creative heritage and provides growth and opportunity during this sea-change in the communication industry. He brings 35 years of experience building creative business enterprises along with deep knowledge about brand, marketing and corporate strategy.

He began his communications career at Walt Disney where as Director of Creative Services he helped to launch multi-billion dollar emerging Disney enterprises like the Disney Channel and Disney Home Video. He also learned life-long lessons about team-building and managing creative environments. Bill put this knowledge to work in building and running CF2GS, which provided strategic and creative services to huge national brands (Royal Caribbean Cruises, U.S. Bank, AAA, HP). He sold the company to True North (now IPG) and served as President for a number of years.

During the dotcom era Bill helped to take FreeShop.com public, watched the stock soar and then when the market collapsed, developed the restructuring plan that kept the company alive which led to its ultimate sale and return of shareholder equity. More life-lessons learned.

Bill has also consulted with creative enterprises, helping entrepreneurs shift from proprietorships into enterprises that grow and scale. He currently serves on boards of cutting edge communication companies deeply involved with digital, social and mobile marketing. He has also served on the boards of some of the Northwest’s leading public institutions including IslandWood, Seattle Public Library Foundation and Pacific Science Center.
