Oakland County Community Mental Health Authority leads a provider service network that assists more than 22,000 Oakland County citizens, as well as manages a $300 million dollar budget. This budget provides funding for more than 300 service sites and employs approximately 4,000 people. People who receive public mental health services through the OCCMHA provider network include those who have a developmental disability or mental health illness, children with serious emotional disturbances and their families, or substance use disorders. The majority of these individuals have Medicaid, with many receiving Medicare as well. Additionally, nearly 30% of persons served by OCCMHA have no current health insurance. OCCMHA exists to ensure that all of these individuals are made aware of and have accessibility to services and supports that will improve their health and quality of life, as well as ensure their engagement in full community participation.
