Biography

AAmy Watanabe is the Program Director at APAICS, developing its educational and leadership programs, as well as communications, to build the pipeline of Asian American and Pacific Islander political leaders. Amy has worked with local and national community organizations to develop advocacy and leadership skills, particularly in the Asian Pacific American community over the pay eight years.

Amy previously worked at the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) in its Washington, D.C. office as a program coordinator and corporate relations. She also served as the Daniel K. Inouye Fellow, overseeing key legislative issues for the Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.

Amy is dedicated to promoting diversity and ensuring representation of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in all aspects of society. Amy was born and raised in Los Angeles, and received her undergraduate degree in Communication Studies and minor in Asian American Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.
