Company Description

When it was established in 1910, North Carolina Central University was the first public liberal arts college for African-American students. Since then, this historically black college (HBCU) has developed a reputation for excellence in academics, research and cultural awareness. North Carolina Central University is an HBCU. North Carolina Central University offers more than 100 programs of study in nearly 30 academic departments. The school offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. Some of these programs are unique, such as the master's degree in Jazz Studies and the bachelor's degree in Apparel Design. NCCU also has some joint programs for graduate students. Some of these include: * Juris Doctor/Master of Library Science * Juris Doctor/Master of Business Administration * Master of Business Administration/Master of Information Science The university provides several sources of financial aid, including need-based government programs and institutional scholarships. NCCU's Alumni Association also offers scholarships. Most of the alumni scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen, but all NNCU students are encouraged to apply. NCCU encourages diversity in its student body. Though it was originally intended only for African-American students, the college's admissions are open to students of all races and ethnicities.
