ACP focuses on investments in US middle-market companies in the following sectors: business services/outsourcing, aerospace/defense, federal and commercial information technology and healthcare services. The firm participates primarily in MBOs, industry build-ups, recapitalizations and growth equity investments. They target opportunities primarily involving private companies and divisions of larger companies located in the US with enterprise values of $50 million to $500 million. The firm looks for companies with strong potential for organic growth, opportunities for consolidation in fragmented industries, significant opportunities for post-investment value creation through operational improvements and potential for value expansion as scale is achieved. ACP prefers is to lead or co-lead their investments, but they also consider co-investments with other value-added investors that are positioned to play an active role. Therefore, the firm may invest in both control positions and minority equity situations.
