HMOs in Florida had a difficult 2014 when it came to net income, with 44 percent of them reporting losses. Combined, HMOs in Florida reported a 90 percent plunge in profit last year, falling to $66.5 million from $648 million in 2013, according to a report from the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation.
