One of the first legislative acts by the Victorian Andrews Labor government will be to make blockades by Victoria's militant construction union easier by tearing up police powers to move protesters.
The laws, introduced in Parliament on Tuesday, repeal provisions introduced by the former Liberal government in 2013, which gave police the power to break up picket lines and protesters if they presented a violent threat and to fine protesters $720 for ignoring orders.
