SEC settles with six investment managers over alleged short-selling violations

A group of six investment firms will pay more than $2.55 million to settle charges by the Securities and Exchange Commission that they shorted stocks in advance of purchasing shares in offerings in the same companies.

J.P. Morgan Investment Management Inc., Sabby Management LLC, Omega Advisors Inc., War Chest Capital Partners LLC, Harvest Capital Strategies LLC and Auriga Global Investors SV SA agreed to settle without admitting or denying the charges, according to administrative proceedin...
