Scottish ministers plan new foxhunting law

FOXHUNTS in Scotland are to be restricted to two dogs unless they can prove they need more, under controversial laws unveiled yesterday that were denounced as a "disaster for wildlife and farm stock."

Mairi Gougeon, the SNP's minister for Rural Affairs and the Natural Environment, pledged to introduce legislation limiting the number of hounds or beagles that can be used to flush or find a fox to two, as in England and Wales.
