San Jose to award $100 million to 11 affordable housing developments

San Jose city officials have selected 11 proposed affordable apartment developments totaling 1,144 new housing units to move toward $100 million in funding that was announced last August.

"The city's investment is the linchpin that will make it possible for these developers to cumulatively secure nearly $500 million from external funding sources for the benefit of San José residents," Jacky Morales-Ferrand, city housing director, said in a statement.
