Rolls-Royce building world's fastest zero-emissions plane
ROLLS-ROYCE is building an electric aircraft it hopes will set a new record as the fastest zero-emissions aeroplane.
The company believes the small biplane will be able to reach a worldbeating top speed of more than 300mph when it takes to the skies above Britain next year. The target is almost 100mph faster than the current record, set in 2017 by Germany's Extra Aircraft 330LE, powered by a Siemens electric motor, which posted a top speed of 213mph.
