Robotic camera sheds light on basking sharks off Inner Hebrides
AN AUTONOMOUS camera has been used in the UK for the first time off the coast of Scotland in a project to disclose the secret lives of basking sharks.
Scientists have started tagging the sharks around the Inner Hebrides so an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) can follow them below the surface of the water.
Little is known about the world's second largest fish, despite it being prevalent in the waters off the west coast of Scotland.
