Report: Vedanta looking for US oilfield service consortium for blocks in India

Vedanta Resources PLC is looking for U.S. oilfield services companies to set up a consortium to help develop 41 blocks in India that were recently acquired by its Cairn Oil & Gas business, Reuters reported Nov. 29, citing comments made by company Chairman Anil Agarwal.
In a briefing attended by Reuters, Agarwal said he and Cairn's CEO, Sudhir Mathur, met with executives from 70 service companies in Houston this week encouraging the firms to organize consortia to compete for contracts.
